asdfjkl;

   Well I finally got around to getting started on this thing.  Sorry if I end up boring you to death, so try and stay alive.  I don't even know what to write about so I am just going to ramble for a little while until I get a good feel for this.
   I finally have enough to by a car, which is nice.  I don't have a license though so all that money is kinda worthless.  My sister offered to sell me her car for $500 which is pretty cheap.  It has a few problems though, like the trunk is broken and the speedometer sometimes doesn't work.  In order to keep the trunk shut, they tied it with a knot of this plastic thing, if I remember what they are called I will edit it in here.  I want to drive mostly because of my work.  I have to work every Saturday and Sunday from 5 AM until 1 PM.  The bus doesn't pass that early so I have to rely on my family to get me to work and I would much rather not keep them from sleeping.
   Believe it or not, the days that I do work on the weekends aren't that bad.  Sure I DO have to wake up at 4 AM, but the work I do those days is pretty simple.  I eat breakfast before I go because McDonald's breakfast isn't really all that appealing to me.  I start off work by throwing out all of the trash.  From there I go and raise the flag outside.  I was told the first day that I put up the flag, "If you let that flag touch the floor you're fired." so I have been extra careful to not let it get anywhere near the ground.  After I finish this I get myself two spray bottles; one that is full of sanitizer, and the other one has Windex.  I also take with me a small vacuum that is kept in the back room and some rags.  I start by putting on some knee pads, and then taking off my shoes.  Then I proceed to the hardest thing I have to do at work on my weekends: clean the McDonald's playplace.  It's hard for me to climb inside of there, since I am taller than the average person.  I keep bumping my shins and my head on everything when I am inside.  I have to spray all the windows with windex, and sanitize the whole inside of the play place.  This takes me about 40-60 minutes to do.  Then I have to go down the slide, and go back inside with the vacuum and vacuum out any little particles that are inside.  This takes me about half an hour.  When I finish this I take all the stuff to the back room and say good morning to all of my coworkers, who must be having the time of their lives getting yelled at by customers and my manager.

to be continued....

  1. You are doing exactly what William Stafford suggests for you do to -- your are diving in. You are writing and seeing where it leads you. I love some of the details here -- like being fired if you let the flag touch the gourn. That's Serious Business. May I suggest that you start to doubt yourself less and just write and see what happens? It's okay if it's boring because once in a while something surprising happens, and you end up with magic. :-) Kimberly
